Alberta's five racing entertainment centres
Racetrack casinos make up five of the 30 venues on this site's map. AGLC files them under racing entertainment centres. Two of them carry the Century name, one near each of the province's big cities.
Century Mile Racetrack & Casino sits at Edmonton International Airport in Leduc County. It opened on April 1, 2019, with a full one-mile track. At its announcement, it was described as the only mile-long track in Western Canada. Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing run roughly May to September. Standardbred, or harness, racing takes over in fall and winter.
North of Calgary, Century Downs Racetrack & Casino is at 260 Century Downs Drive in Balzac, Rocky View County. It sits on Highway 2, the QEII, north of Calgary International Airport. Its track is five-eighths of a mile.

The September 2026 sale agreement
On September 28, 2026, Century Casinos agreed to sell Century Mile and Century Downs to Highfield Investment Group. The deal covers the two racetrack casinos only. Century Casino & Hotel Edmonton and Century Casino St. Albert are not part of it.
Beyond the change of owner, the guide does not list any effect on racing, gaming or the venues themselves.
Lethbridge, Grande Prairie and Lacombe
In Lethbridge, Bullys Casino is part of the Rocky Mountain Turf Club at 3401 Parkside Drive South. Its phone number is (403) 380-1905. Up north, Wild Horse Casino & Lounge sits at Evergreen Park, 55051 Township Road 710 in Grande Prairie County. The Grande Prairie Regional Agricultural & Exhibition Society runs it.
The Track on 2 is privately owned and stands at 40309 Range Road 272 in Lacombe County, near Lacombe. Its phone number is 1-403-786-3122. Opening hours are in the "Hours side by side" table below the map. Race dates are on the venue's own page, and it is worth checking with the venue or calling the number above before you set out.
